READY TO TRANSFORM YOUR SMILE?

Most patients with good oral hygiene are candidates for veneers. Dental veneers are a cosmetic dental procedure that can take your smile to the next level. Veneers are thin, porcelain shell-like coverings placed on the front part of the teeth that are uniform and natural-looking.

SMILES MADE JUST FOR YOU

Veneers are custom made to match your natural tooth shade and can treat a wide range of dental issues, like:

  • Teeth that are stained and cannot be whitened

  • Chipped or worn teeth

  • Crooked teeth

  • Misshapen or irregular teeth

  • Large gap between front teeth

  • Uneven spacing between the upper front teeth

Advancements in materials used to fabricate dental veneers mimic the light reflecting properties of your natural teeth and the porcelain material is highly resistant to stains. The thin porcelain shells are bonded to the surface of your teeth.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR VENEERS?

Most all patients with good oral health are candidates for dental veneers. A consultation with your dentist will help identify the areas of concern you have with the appearance of your teeth. From there, your dentist can provide a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your smile goals.

Dental veneers require the removal of a small portion of enamel to prepare the teeth for cosmetic enhancement. During your consultation, one of our experienced cosmetic dentists will discuss the treatment options available and help you choose the one that is right for you.

If you are interested in learning more about dental veneers and how you can improve your smile with cosmetic dentistry solutions, call West Richmond Family Dentistry today at (804) 282-9600.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH DENTAL VENEERS:

At your initial cosmetic consultation with one of our dentists, we will discuss the concerns you have about the appearance of your teeth, take x-rays and impressions and talk about the treatment options that can help you achieve your smile goals. The veneer procedure usually requires two appointments to complete. Together, we will determine the best course of action and provide you with a cost estimate for the cosmetic procedure.

The next appointment will involve the preparation of the front teeth, which will require the use of a local anesthetic to make you comfortable during the procedure. The dentist will use a special tool to remove a small portion of the outermost layer of enamel off the surface of the front teeth and reshape them to provide the best fit for the veneer. An impression will be made of your newly reshaped teeth and sent to the laboratory to customize your dental veneers. The new cosmetic enhancement will be made to match the color and texture of your natural teeth. You will receive temporary veneers to protect your teeth until your new veneers are made.

ACHIEVE A CONFIDENT SMILE

At the final appointment, your new veneers will be bonded to your teeth. Afterward, they will be evaluated and adjusted to ensure the optimal fit and color. Placing veneers is not a painful procedure and you will be stunned by your beautiful new smile.

At West Richmond Family Dentistry, we will give you aftercare instructions to help you keep your new veneers in the best possible condition. Occasionally, people may need to make dietary modifications to avoid chipping the veneers such as avoiding crunching hard foods on the front teeth. We often suggest a nightguard be worn over the veneers to protect them if you are a bruxer.
